Description and purpose of the Research Infrastructure
Mission: Protection of public health and consumer rights, through the official control of genetically modified foods, allergenic substanses and food froud. Objectives: The aim of the laboratory is the official control and monitoring of foodstuffs regarding labelling of Genetically Modified Organisms, allergens and fraud for safety evaluation, compliance with legislation, protection of the consumer and fair trade to promote good manufacturing practices in the food industry. The competence of the laboratory is maintained through the implementation of ISO 17025:2017. Research and other activities: The laboratory collaborates with the European Network GMO Laboratory and the European Network of Food Allergen Detection Laboratories
