Laboratory for Internet Computing (LInC)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Description and purpose of the Research Infrastructure

The Laboratory for Internet Computing (LInC) was established in 2002. Its main goal is to conduct research and create new ideas and tools that can help solve real-world problems in Internet Computing. Right now, LInC research focuses on Cloud/Edge/Fog Computing, Online Social Networks, Internet of Things, and Big Data Analytics. LInC has a strong experience in cutting-edge research and development for the Internet Computing and the World Wide Web, through projects funded by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus. LInC has over 20 years experience in operating production-quality digital infrastructure facilities and services (Grids and Clouds). LInC enjoys an excellent reputation for its academic training of young scientists. During the 22 years of its operation, more than 80 researchers at the post-doctoral, PhD, and MSc levels have been trained in LInC. The scientific output of LInC includes over 200 publications, many of which appeared in top scientific journals and peer-reviewed conferences, with several having awarded distinctions.
