Scanning Electron Microscopy Lab

GENERAL INFORMATION

Description and purpose of the Research Infrastructure
The Scanning Electron Microscopy lab is housed at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering at Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). The facility includes a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) equipped with an Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometer (EDS) and other detectors (SE, BSE), with excellent capabilities for microstructural and microchemical studies. SEM is a surface analytical technique that allows both the morphology and composition of various materials in modern science to be studied. The facility is open to all students within & from outside the university as well as to collaborating research groups from academia and industry. The highly trained and experienced staff provides assistance and enable students and research groups to achieve their research objectives.
